Canon printers offer three waste ink tanks to catch excess ink that cannot be used in the printer. The waste ink tanks are located under the printer where you can find a small flap that can be opened to access the tanks.
The waste ink tanks vary in size depending on the model of printer, but the 700-word Canon printer is equipped with a 0.5-liter waste ink tank. This tank is designed to collect excess ink and should be emptied at least once a year to avoid the possibility of spills and damage to the printer.
The waste ink tank can be emptied either by a professional technician or by following a few simple steps. First, you will need to unplug the printer and open the flap covering the waste ink tank. Using a small screwdriver or other small tool, carefully unscrew the cap on the waste ink tank. Allow it to drain into a container and then carefully screw the cap back on the waste ink tank. Finally, reinstall the waste ink tank, close the flap, and plug the printer back in.
