Canon Pixma MG5700 Series printers are designed for self-diagnostics and will display the 5B00 or P07 error message if the printer detects an issue with its waste ink absorber.
To fix this issue, you will need to reset the printer. Generally, this is done by performing a Power Reset, but if that doesn’t work, you may need to perform a Service Mode Reset.
Power Reset
Make sure the printer is turned on.
Disconnect the power cord from the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.
Leave it unplugged for at least 10 minutes.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer and plug it back into the wall outlet.
Wait for the printer to power back up, then attempt to print a test page.
If the printer is still displaying the 5B00 or P07 error message, then a Service Mode Reset may be required.

Press and hold the STOP (RESET) button, as well as the POWER button at the same time for roughly 5 seconds.
Release the POWER button, but keep holding the STOP (RESET) button.
Press and release the STOP (RESET) button 2 more times.
Release the STOP (RESET) button.
Power the printer back on.
The printer should be reset, and the 5B00 or P07 error message should no longer be displayed. You can now attempt to print a test page and verify that the error has been cleared. If the error persists, you may need to contact Canon service directly.
